Would you buy these?

I have a friend who managed to get a brand new pair for FREE. He wants to sell them. What would you do? Me thinks they are a bit on the pricey side!

Probably not. Open air, 4 ohm, not that efficient. Probably why he wants to sell them. Who knows, they might be great with the right equipment. they're gonna need a TON of juice. He got them for free?

Oh man, I'd love to get a pair but if he got them free why doesn't he 'hook you up'?

Wonder how they compare to Emerald Physics...I've always loved a speaker without the boxy sound ;)

Hell, I'd love to get a pair, I just wouldn't love to pay for a pair. If they were free I'd be as happy as a shig in pit!

How does someone "manage" to get a $7K pair of speakers for free?

No, I wouldn't buy them, because I'm simply not in the position to do so, BUT, I'd LOVE to hear them with some quality amplification! :) They're definitely intriguing to me.

    Without a doubt, yes.

I'll tell you what. I have a pair of lower end micro monitors from Jamo that I really enjoy and I would really like to hear the their higher end open box stuff.. I think Jamo has a really nice sound. If he gives you a decent price I would jump on it for sure, but as mentioned you definitely need to have some quality power to put behind it....

He won them in a contest but I'm not sure that he wants quick cash. He might hold out for someone to pay a higher price. I don't have the right gear or room for them, but if the price is right I won't be able to pass.

Can you tell us what he's asking for them?

If I had $2,000 and needed some speaks, I'd wave the cash (all $20's) under his nose. $5,000 nah but, for 2K hell yeah!

The open design seems questionable. The 15 inch Seas drivers conjure up memories of the Dynaco A-25 speaker which still sees a good demand/recommendation in the used market; the Seas driver (Danish) is the sought after version in the Dynaco

The smaller Danish Jamo speakers have always been a favorite of mine, so I would certainly take the opportunity to give these a listen. Jamo usually does not disappoint.

I'm thinking I'll offer $3,000, but I don't know if I can stomach any more than that.

Bah, if he's a good friend, I'd start at $500 and work my way up from there. :D
