Ground Loop Isolator blocks satellite signal

I just had Dish network installed at my new house. Now that it is connected via HDMI to the HT system, I'm getting the very annoying ground loop noise. I placed my ground loop isolator inline with the incoming satellite signal and while the noise clears up noticeably, the receiver no longer can receive incoming signal from the satellite. I'm using the Jensen device that is highly recommended around here. It worked fine on uVerse......
BTW, Dish and DirecTV are my ONLY options at this house. Any thoughts?

It may be a bandwidth limitation with the isolator?

Is the isolator one that has RCA inputs and outputs? Or, is it a coaxial type with F connectors? If so, that type can't be used with a satellite dish, it interrupts the power connection to the transceiver on the dish. You'll need to get an isolator that would connect between the satellite dish receiver and your main audio receiver, with RCA inputs/outputs.
Regards, Ken -
you must have the Dish HD if your using HDMI. 2 questions 1 Do you have a 6x6 switch at the dish? It's just a silver square so you may be able to run 2 or more TV's from one dish with separate receiver's in the home.
2 sometimes the monkeys Dish sends out just don't have a clue and they do not pull the shielding back to use as your ground when you push on the F-connector. This will cause funny things to happen and a complete re-do of the Rg6 is necessary.
If you have the 6x6 switch it needs to have a ground line ran. There is a screw on it for this and all you need is to run a wire to a house ground or just drive a ground rod in the ground and attach you wire to it.
Have had Dish for 20 yrs and have seen most everything.
you also could call up Dish if this is a new install and complain they will send them back to take care of the problem. Dish will do just about anything to make you happy in the first 60 days and in most cases in the first year. -
I have the combo receiver that does HD for the main screen and sends analog to the bedroom TV. Incoming from the satellite is a single coax cable which goes into a splitter box that has 3 cables running into the receiver.
I do have the Jensen isolator that has coax plugs on each side. Clearly that won't work in this situation but since I'm using the HDMI cable to connect, an RCA isolator isn't an option unless I switch to component. If I do that, would I need an isolator for each RGB connection? I'd certainly rather stick with HDMI for simplicity reasons.
A tech is headed out today and I'll see what I can get resolved. I was even considering trying a cheater plug on the DVR/receiver to see what would happen but I'd rather resolve it in a proper manner.____________________________________________________________

Dish Network uses the L-band range of 950-2,250MHz (dish to receiver - see HERE). Your Jensen is only good from 2-1,300MHz, which will only cover digital cable sources. Ideally, you need to remove the Jensen from the line and get them to make sure the dish is properly grounded to get rid of the hum that way. However, if that doesn't work, you need a ground isolation transformer that will cover satellite bandwidth. I did a quick search and found this:

Hopefully, their tech will get to the root of the problem. Otherwise, it might be worth $20 to snag one of those isolators and see if it fixes things.Equipment list:

Another thing you can try: Run an extension cord from another outlet to your Dish receiver and see if that makes the hum go away. If it does, buy one of these to filter that particular device without lifting the ground:

Thanks! I will look into both of those items.
Update so far is that the tech had never heard of the problem and contacted 3 other people (managers, etc.) who had never seen the problem. After he left, I decided to try unplugging the COAX feed on the bedroom TV system on a whim. It significantly reduced the noise in the other system. Since the bedroom rig is a regular analog CATV feed from the receiver, I placed the Jensen isolator inline at the POE in the bedroom and it reduced the noise level at the HT system and service continued to work in the bedroom. I guess my 2-channel system was introducing some noise.
Unfortunately, there is still some noise left and lifting the ground on the receiver doesn't solve the problem. Guess I'll have to try the full band isolator mentioned above and see what that does for me.____________________________________________________________

Well, their own forums say that part won't work for satellite. See:
http://www.hefnerlabs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2&sid=d3fa0cda8b7375059a64f3dcd484f2e9
Unfortunately, that probably rules out the part I listed as well (and confirms what Ken said about needing the DC voltage). You might still look into dragging an extension cord into your room and seeing if it's a particular item in your rig that is causing the problem. At least then, you could throw a HumX on it and solve the problem.Equipment list:

Some quick searching shows that a lot of people with Dish Network receivers get hum when they plug the receiver into a surge protector. If you're running it on one, you might try plugging it straight into the wall. Apparently, the boxes are skittish about this.Equipment list:

Mine is plugged into a UPS which does power regeneration and surge protection. Not much I can do about it given my setup but I appreciate all input on this. Hopefully the hefner GLI product will do the trick!____________________________________________________________

Their forum specifically says it won't work with Dish Network... but good luck. I would still try plugging the Dish Network box straight into an outlet if possible. The UPS could actually be the source of the problem.Equipment list:

Thanks, got some more testing to do now. Noticed that the version I ordered is the CGLI-2 and the version being referenced in the thread is the version 1. Got a question into the seller to find out more....____________________________________________________________

Did you ever get resolution with any of the isolators or were you SOL?
-
Had to run a separate power circuit for the DVR to eliminate most of the noise. Never did find a GLI that worked.____________________________________________________________
