I don't understand it either, looks like an economical build. :D

Maybe some "tubehead" got offended, poor little feller--rub some dirt in it, you'll be alright.

I agree, pretty funny. I bet it's neutral sounding and low noise! I'm not sure what happened to the original posting.
    Cheers, Ken

Just think of the economy of replacement tubes!

I don't know about economy. aren't incadescent bulbs banned in the US? If so, they will only be found on the black market with nasty pricing :D

Good point---Polkfarmboy, will your design accept GFL's?

I think you might get more out of it by using outdoor floodlights, but don't pair them with the older SL2000/3000 tweets as the imaging will be way to bright even for tubes.

I like the way they blend in with the furniture.

Oh, wait a second, they're IN the furniture. :)

I think LED would be much more efficient ;) GFL's simply don't cut it, don't forget GFL's aren't dimmable and will simply fail in the low end of the signal, simply so so during peaks, could also be distorded output, maybe good for people that enjoy colored output, but would it bright or warm... :D

I like the fact that it is chassis mounted with slide out module, so easy to fix or mod or even tweakable ;)

You see, your bag is the looks and I'm more for the practical side. I wonder what are the specs are on this DIY TOOB like appartus? Any imaginative I/P on the subject :)
