Hi once again, this is about my Yamaha rx v665 avr Plenty of power fr the room but this amp does functions I don't under stand. Firstly under music fields they offer different music halls of which all sound like it is varying the amount of echo and or reverb. Itried it and quite frankley it's worthless and I leave it in 7-ch stereo which rocks the bestThere's no duplicating a German music hall or any other hall for that matter. On the movie side the fields read like thomas dolby ran amuk in there.NEO this NEURALthat W/ PRO -LOGIC11
thrown into me cut out most of these features and add some power to about

Just ignore them like everyone else does ;)

I have a 7-channel setup and occasionally download SD movies from the PS Store to save a little $$. The audio for these is only stereo, and I've found that Dolby PLIIx (and the like) does a very good job processing a 2-channel movie source into a 7-channel "surround" experience. Considering that I'm not listening critically to the soundtrack, but simply enjoying a (hopefully) interesting movie, I don't get bogged down into comparing it to a discrete, 7.1 surround experience (because it doesn't compare), but I find it to be quite satisfying in this situation. For music? Tried it, didn't like it.
