Original Xbox Powercord Question

My original xbox replacement powercord from the recall way back in 2004 (or was it 2005?) is dead and I can't find my original cord. Can I use a generic power cord or am I going to fry the box?
Xbox powercord: 7A, 125V
Generic powercord: 10A, 125V
I do own a 360 but I've been wanting to give the original Xbox to one of the local charities in town. Haven't called (800)-4MY-XBOX yet but I shot them an email. Thx.

I have used a generic power cord with my old Xbox with no issues.
