Did you know Germany is still paying reparations and damages caused by World War One? Their final bill is being paid Sunday and for Germany this will officially mark the end of WWI.
For those of you who do not know your history, World War One was fought between 1914-1918, almost 100 years ago.
It's actually very interesting to see how the effects of WWI helped trigger WWII, and in turn created the "Greatest Generation". I'm only in my 30's, but the history of these two wars fascinates me.
(not sure about Germany's debts for WWII)

First Word War - Actually it was the French who demanded the most payback from the Germans. At the time US president Wilson was willing to forgive the Germains the payments due. Wilson was an economist and knew it would lead to hardship on the German population for many years. It was that hardship that gave rise to communist and socialist political activity in Germany. From the socialist party came the Hiltler and the **** party.
