I recently moved some things around, and managed to get the rig on one wall. I took a few pics, so I thought I'd share. 80% of the time the TV isn't even on...just Bears games, Formula 1 races, and an occasional movie.

Thanks Freddie - I knew that would raise some eyebrows. The Yammie that I use for a HT pre has a couple of modes for "presence" speakers. They are rarely used, but I don't like to "under-utilize" (if that's a word) any gear.

    Ah nice.

I've been seeing the use of front-presence speakers more and more lately. Would you say that it distorts the imaging/soundstage in anyway when listening to music in multichannel DVD's/Blurays?

I would throw the rti a3's up front and put the fxi a4's in the rear.

To be honest, I don't really care for the sound of them in most situations. They add a certain metallic sound that reminds me of a cheap digital reverb. They do alter the soundstage a bit, but not in a way that I condsider realistic. I can't run the rear and the presence speakers at the same time, so I'm usually running the rears in multi-channel situations. They do function well as room treatments :)

You did a nice job bringing them back to life. How's the wood end caps holding up?

They are holding up great, and look very nice. And now that all the mods have had some time to settle in, they sound even better than they look.

Getting those 2.3tl's from you really started a chain of events. With the exception of the AVR, everything in that photo was purchased since getting those speakers last spring

    What cables are you running?

    What cables are you running?

That's something I've been experimenting with, so it's kind of a work in progress.

For speaker cables, I'm bi-wiring the SDA's with the 1090, and using the 10g version of these: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KASA10PRL Not really expensive, but broken in they seem pretty neutral.
    For the surrounds, I'm using 12g: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLE12BL

For IC's, I've got a mix of brands that I've been moving around to find the best fit. I've got a some MIT AVt 1's, Signal Cable Analog 2's, Blue Jeans LC-1's, and these: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=eKs-R2

At some point I think it's inevitable that I will evolve to all MIT, but I'm still trying to accept the fact that I'll be spending thousands replacing cables that are all 1-2 years old, and still function perfectly.

All of the power cables are upgraded to Signal Cable Magic Power, and a few other custom 12g cables that I have put together. The system runs off a dedicated 20A circuit connected to a PS Audio Quintet and Duet.
