I was hoping for a closer baseball season finish

Phillies clinched the NL East and with only around 5 games left for each team, they should have the top spot in the National League tied up as well since there aren't enough games left for anyone to really pass them.
I thought for sure it was going to come down to the wire but the Braves just didn't hold on. Now with Prado out and the other injuries they have been dealing with, I'm pretty disappointed. It was shaping up to be a good run.
I was hoping the Padres would hold it together as well 'cause I really don't think the Giants can get anywhere in the postseason. The Padres played a better season. Hopefully they can pull it out of their butts and sneak past the Giants.
The more I look at it though, I'm thinkin' the Reds are gonna be the NL Central winners and that's scary. The Reds gave the Phils a run for their money and proved tough to beat. They are a serious threat to the Phils I think.
Lastly, hopefully Tampa Bay can hold off the Yankees. TB has the Oreos to contend with and that's not a huge worry at all there but the Yankees are playing Toronto and they have been consistent this year. If they weren't stuck in the same division as the Yankees and Tampa Bay, Toronto could have owned one of the other divisions.
But the Phils, man. Five games left in the regular season and they've tied up the whole thing. NL East, top spot in the NL they get a fairly nice break to rest everybody up before the fireworks start in Round 1. They get a week worth of cruise control time before the post season. Nice position to be in.
It's been a sweet season, the post season should be just as impressive!

Yes, they will win. And yes, it's scary....but because they are playing nowhere near as good as they did most of the season until maybe a month ago. Not sure what's going on, but if nothing changes they will not be contenders._________________________________________________

SOPAThank God for different opinions. Imagine the world if we all wanted the same woman -
I'm just really glad they took it John and four years in a row, WOW! How unusual for a Philly team to do this and take a title out of it.
I too am leery of the Reds. -
The Reds have that whole "Team of Destiny" vibe going on right now. The Pads were never good to begin with. They just kept winning one run games. Eventually, the tide turned and they're kind of being exposed. The Giants could be dangerous and the Phils are scary as hell.
Last night was a good win for the Braves. They needed that shot in the arm from Infante. Good to see 'em celebrating like they did last night.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
Forget the Phillies. The Rangers are going to the playoffs, and thats as good as a Yankees world series in these parts. I'm hoping Tampa holds on too so that we can at least see somebody else in the playoffs for once.
:eek::eek: I always liked the Rangers but HATE with every fiber of my being the Cowboys. I would like to see the Rangers play. -
The Giants will take NL West, but they will always be the second bananas to our idiotic 49ers in SF.
