Week 3 in the NFL

So did anybody get to watch any football? I missed most games and the only one I wanted to see was the Dallas game but FOX did not air it in my market. Someone told me it was because the Houston game didn't sell out and another person told me it was because of AFC game broadcast rights. Either way, I missed what seemed like an exciting game even though Houston got trounced. Stupid FOX.

I saw the first quarter of the Philadelphia Vick game and that was it for football. I had so much other stuff going on this past weekend that I barely saw any TV at all.

I will say though that I am very impressed with Vick. I'm glad that he's doing do well. I hope he keeps his nose clean and his stuff together. He's the QB the Eagles have needed for a long time. I'm also glad because every week, all the hypocrites who complained about the dog fighting stuff get fewer and fewer. Go Vick! Make them eat their words!

So how'd your team do?

Oh and thanks Lou for scheduling Polkfest during Dallas' bye week! You're the best!

my boys play tonight, so no news as of yet concerning my fav team however did watch a few games.

The Vikings game was interesting. I thought the Lions when watching the first half had somewhat of a chance seeing the Vikings didn't seem on their A game with Farve and his interceptions as well ect. However they pulled away in the 2nd and won the game, however not the cleanest game and the fighting was annoying in the second half.

Also suprised at the Miami game as well last night.

If they play like your Vikings then both teams will be losers by the end of the season.

The Vikings just like to get the Packers sloppy seconds with Farve....we had all the good years, now you have one and probably won't get anything more...hehe ;):p:D

The Dallas/Houston game was broadcast in my market (and I did watch it). The Cowboys finally looked interested in the game, but a few of their scores came from busted plays to Roy Williams (can't remember the name of the young CB Houston had on him, but he messed up severely several times).

The big story from that game (in my opinion) was the fact that Houston's defense just can't stop anyone.. Unless Houston can control the ball with the run (which they had a hard time doing against Dallas) or score 30+ points a game, they can't win. The Houston pass-rush was non-existent; giving Romo plenty of time to find his receivers (made even easier when Houston CB's are going to blow coverage). Houston has a great offense, but they are going to struggle mightily if they can't slow anyone down. Manning's Colts (and maybe the old Warner-lead Rams) were the only teams I can remember that just out-scored everyone (although their defenses usually slowed the other teams down just enough) and controlled the game enough to win consistently.

Final analysis? Dallas finally showed up to a game and Houston's defense (specifically their pass-rush) is going to need to improve if they want to make real noise this season.

I got to watch my Bills actually display some offense!
If only those last two interceptions didn't happen, we had a chance to break our 16 game losing streak to the Pats!
As Bills fans we cheer louder for first downs then most fans cheer for touchdowns.:D
Edwards was let go today though so at least that roller-coaster is over. If anything, our new coach is able to make decisions that provides sports talk radio WGR550 content.

I was stoked the Bills covered.. if you can't stay within 16 points against a suspect NE defense, you don't belong in the NFL.. respect building for the Bills begins now! =)

Well, my Cardinals had a win handed to them--they certainly didn't earn it, but we'll take it. Why do we always win by the skin of our teeth?

Reminds me of their days in STL when we called them the "Cardiac Cardinals" for the same reason.

Fins looked decent, but lack of running game was our downfall. I think the Jets got exactly what they were looking for; too many throws from Chad Henne.

Still, I like our defense (except our secondary could use some love still...) and why not go after VJAX and bring him down to run opposite of Marshall?

My Colts pulled out a win against Denver. They've looked better, but they've got several people hurt so we'll take a win this week.

I was glad to see the Saints lose. They are so over-hyped, over-played. How many times do we have to hear about the super bowl and how it 'saved a city'??? Yes I'm still bitter about them beating my Colts, but that aside, jeebux how many times do we have to hear it?????

The Chargers are off to yet another slow start.

I know that "Dork" Turner says that he thinks this team is stronger/better than last year, but I have my doubts.

Most of the problems so far seem more mental mistakes than coaching.

You just never know which Charger team will show up - the team that has come to play or the self-destructing one.

Typically you can tell in a quarter and then decide if its worth the emotional investment to watch the rest of the game. So far that strategy has saved me time to do more important stuff like re-arrange my sock drawer....;)

Agreed!! Finally we don't have a Lion's esque season and no one is talking about us yet? CHIEFS!!! 3-0? Who saw that coming? I predicted 7-9 this year and I'm going to be off in a good way!!

What, 17 penalties is too much for you?!

Minus the penalties, we would have won that game by a TD probably. Gotta give it to the Bears for hanging in there and taking advantage of the penalties though.

All this talk and only one mention of the Falcons-Saints game??? Fan of either team or not, that might end up being one of the top five contests all year. Unbelievable.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

You should go to a game in Philly when the Cowboys kick the snot out of the Turkeys...I mean the Iggles. Better yet, go to a place where a rivalry actually exists like Washington D.C. when the Cowboys are in town. Now THAT is an experience!

I didn't even get to see Saints v. Falcons. I don't think it was on here. The highlights looked like a good game though. Wish I could comment more.

I was flipping back and forth from the NASCAR race just to check the score. I should have watched the game. The race was a wash for my guys. It was a tough sports day at my humble abode. :(
