Well gave one a shower last night after having them for a bit over 34 hours. I do notice better sound out of the clean one compared to the one that has not been cleaned. So tonight or tomorrow I will take apart the other and give that one a shower.

I must say that environment can either help or harm these speakers. Suck as room size and how and where they are located and positioned. The Aerius are very directional and have to be adjusted for the best sound. More pictures and a review on the way.

Looks like you have too much toe-in. Have you tried the flashlight toe in procedure designed by ML? Also, the distance from the front wall to the speaker must be exact on both sides. IF not, the back wave will not be the same and destroy the presentation.

Try raising the back of the speaker about an inch higher than the front. It brought the sound stage to ear level for me. Nice job!

Yep thats an insane amount of toe in , if anything you should have them toe'd out

Your too close to the wall with one of them also. When listening pull them out at least 3 foot and try have it so that your equipment isnt in the middle of the 2 speakers

I have saw some ML owners put some marking on the carpet because they cant keep them in the listening position full time

Go to you tube for the flashlight tecnique but basicaly all it tells you is .....when you sit down you point your arm out with a flshlight and the beam from the light should be hitting the panel one third in .Its a stupid video and I dont even know why they posted it .....its sooooooooo lame

Thats great news that your dirty speaker sounds better than the other one after a shower.

Do you have your amps yet?

What do you think of the bass from these speakers .I love how super detailed miner are

I know about the flashlight and will toe them out more. I.love the bass they are not really pigs for power and my pioneer is doing a good job of Pissing out power to them. Should have the amp on a fee weeks but I am sure they will sound even better with that. I will say that these total embarrassed my poll psw10 sub I total removed it from thesetyp. The martins are solid with mid bass and some lows as well. Very impressed

Fixed the toe in both panels are clean now and sound great. Very smooth I am sitting here now with the lights dimmed listening to music. Pulled the toe in out and will adjust more tomorrow. Will probably mark where they go when I am done.

Did the family think you were nuts for giving your speakers a shower?:D Good idea to start with clean panels as you experiment with them.

My mother thought I was nuts my friends wanted to come over to make sure I was ok and people on FB were no comment lol.

Sitting here right now listening to Santana Supernatural, sounds great. I pulled back the toe in and they still sound good. I know my pioneer is crying past +4 db's other than that its holding up well. I can not wait to get the Chiro C500 amp. Would be serious what these sound like with a tube amp as they are already pretty mellow. I do need to get the pioneer calibration mic so I can listen to these in HT mode. I am not sure if I am going to like using them for surround with a crappy jbl center and monitor 40 rears. Was looking at ML's Monitor 4's for the rear if I go that way. Might have to start looking at places in the next year. Just so I can have freedom and space for a stereo rig and surround sound. Just do not think that will be an apartment.

I would upgrade the center before the surrounds.

I did after vacuum, cleaning the dust off the outsides and showering the panels. It is so nice to sit down and hear these how they should be heard. I mean these were made in 1992 here they are in 2010 still sounding great. I think the previous owners never really took care of these. But they are finally in good hands that will take care of them. Of curse if they abused them to much they would not be here.

Have you looked at the Martin Logan TF Encore center. Amazon and audio advisor have them for 199 and that would be a low cost solution that gets great reviews til you can get the center you want.

Forget the encore it wont blend and give you a true esl front stage like your wanting . If your going to be cheap for a centre then buy the .... Fresco ...

The fresco has a electromagnet midrange driver and tweeter unlike the encore and vignette speakers .Keep in mind this still wont give you that esl feeling but the fresco can be bought used for $400

For a centre thats properly timbre matched to your speakers your going to have to buy a martin logan "Cinema " . These centres are amazing and very very cheap on the used market $550 - $700 . I see these appearing for $550 all the time so you could haggle a seller for less

If you must have a centre today then buy a vignette for $280 new as it has aluminum cones unlike the paper in the encore and the vignette used to retail for $800 . Have a look on ebay and amazon but personaly I'd have a movie running 2ch till I held of for a good centre

TV wall I suggest going straight black or a dark color (like a dark chocolate brown) and add some sort of backlighting to the TV the rest of the walls I would go with a light tan or a light gray. Just my .02 :)

I have a contracter that works on houses all the time very good friend as well. He recommends the same so I think a light gray on the other walls and dark color on the back wall.

Should look nice, but like I said try to backlight the TV (Ikea dioder's if nothing else) otherwise you'll strain your eyes watching TV as you cannot detect where the TV ends and the wall begins. :). Really sucks to have your eyes start killing you while playing some epic games of Halo Reach.... :D
