That's a better description. Although I'm sure some sort of adhesive would work for a while, I'd start looking for a replacement. What is it out of?

Paradigm 100 v.2. I did glue it, looks like hell but should stop any progressive damage. Like I said everything sounds fine, I just noticed something looked wrong so took a magnifing glass and saw the split surround.

Because of the odd shape basket I can't use a substitute replacement. Paradigm still has some stock but they want a lot for it.

What kind of glue did you use? Sucks about the pricey replacement cost. I really like Paradigm too, but even out of warranty Polk seems to do a better job of helping to fix a problem.

Some kind of super glue, the type that will instantly bond to your skin.

Looks like others have tried diy repairs as well. MY repair seems ok, just ugly, time will tell. The surround is a bit stiffer now but still moves well.

    P-digm wants $200.00 per woofer.

Ya just some play around dj stuff.

Yeah, 200 for a single driver is a lot of coin. I guess it depends on how much you love em. Maybe you can get lucky and find someone parting them out for cheap.

I emailed a speaker repair shop but they're closed so maybe Monday.

The diy repair is doing quite well. No unusual/odd noise coming from the driver. The damage could have been there for a long time, I just happened to notice there was a split in the surround but it wasn't affecting the sound. I glued it stop any progressive tearing.

Called Paradigm and bought 4 new bass drivers. Lucky for me they still had some, as they were discontinued in 2002. Also they will recone the damaged one with a new spider,VC,cone ,surround for the same cost another repair shop wanted for just replacing the surround. So I will have 4 spare drivers:D
