score! Got the knee down for the first time today! Also got moved up to intermediate. Man is that a work out. The slow group, as much as I complain, its nice to have a break when i get caught behind slower riders. No such break in the intermediate group.

Great day today though! The photographer got one of me with my knee down, so I'm super excited about that!

Still bummed sunday was cancelled. No more track days until october.

Yeah boy!!! Riding hard. It's always a work out when your pushing it like that. I used to go out every Sunday around 8ish, get home around 1pm. Shower, crash, wake up sore. Still good fun though. October will be here before you know it and it will be much cooler out there.

    Congrats man.

Is it ever a workout...especially in the weather here. I have to start hydrating on Tuesday so I'll be in good shape come track day. Got the pics up finally...and a video. The video is of my second session in level 2. The guy following me has been in level 2 for a while and I end up leaving him for a bit.

Round robin...I'm getting to where I get so bored in these sessions. One of the track organizations has it for level 2, the other doesn't. Both have them for level 1. So I'll be able to get out of it in one level, but not the other.

    twsthumbsup2-1.png

Turn 11...had a buddy that high-sided here last time we were out here
    twspm2pg4_7211.png

Turn 3. I'm not that low, but it's still a cool picture:
    _DSC0632.jpg

Turn 10, 'the carousel'...almost got the knee down!
    pm1pg2_7211.png

    And success! Same turn:
    _DSC1126.jpg

Video of my second session ever in level 2:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Jytqo68nAs

Sucks I gotta wait til October! There's another track day organization that I've never been to that hold track days at a track I've never been to. If they open another 'novice' day between now and then, if I don't have anything going on, I'm going!

I need to buckle down and get the bike painted now.

All good tips Doggie. Funny how music makes you want to go "faster" and push harder. Those tips have always helped me as well.

Heck of a track day bike you have there, I see it's a Kawi, at first glance I thought it was an R6 like one of the other members here.

Just to share, I was lent an R6 after block selling my Gixer6, here's a little shot of the action, I'd be the white and red R6 # 316

Exalted512, I see you're in Aggie land, so you must be riding at Texas World Speedway?

Which trackday org do you ride with? If you ever get to the N.W., not only do I race, I also instruct with a track day organization called 2FAST, check out 2-fast.org here's a couple of instructor shots, I'd love to tow you around.

Yup. Those are at World. I ride with lone star track days and ride smart. I'm going to try out lms trackdays as well. Since there's like 5 tracks within 4 hours of me, I have a lot to choose from.

But TWS is 8 minutes from my house:biggrin:

haha. Hopefully in 5 years I'll be fast enough to give ya a tow around the tracks :)

And in a couple years we'll have the new F1 track in Austin too....I cant wait to get on that thing!

I do have to admit, any spare change I have is going to support my addiction to the track pipe. I'll have SS brake lines by the end of this month, going -1 in the front sometime in the near future, and getting the rest of the track plastics (i only have the upper, everything else is stock) by Christmas, if not sooner. After that, I'm saving for a new suit.

So...front sprocket, chain, ss brake lines, and the rest of my track plastics have all been ordered. w00t.

Bad news on the paint though. Since kawasaki doesn't release their paint codes (dont get me started), I had the local place try and match my paint...problem being its a pearl tri-coat. They got extremely close and I would've been more than happy...but it was $100/pint...yeah...for a bike that will more than likely see pavement up close and personal some day (although I hope not)...no way in hell I'm spending $200 just on the base coat.

Well...a couple weekends ago I went driving around to dealerships with my seat cowl in hand, trying to match colors. Found a few cars that were close, but the 2011 Nissan Juke was by far the closest. It looked like almost an exact match.

I took the whole bike there this week to compare. I think the car might be slightly darker than my bike, but it was really hard to get the lighting the same like I could with a small seat cowl. If you look at my bike near the right headlight where its right next to the car's bumper...that's the same light and its pretty much spot on...so we'll see. Close enough for a track bike. All it has to do is match the tank. Even then, there's a 3" gap between the tank and the painted plastics, so it wont be so close as to be able to have a side-by-side comparison.

    Here's a picture:
    IMG_20110727_192127.jpg

Best part is, I called the paint shop and its only $24/pint! Much better than $100/pint!!!

So I'm really excited to get started now. Going to buy everything I need this weekend, clean up the garage and hopefully start on everything next weekend if all goes to plan!

Sorry about all the broken pictures. I better organized my photobucket account and i can't go back and fix anything due to the 'statute of limitations for editing posts'.

Anyway, I've improved a lot from my first TD. So much so, I've actually been asked to start instructing recently. Also got my bike painted. Here's some pictures/videos from my last TD on Saturday at Motor Sports Ranch Houston.
