List given by a GM audio engineer. Like? Dislike? What would your 10 test songs be?
List given by a GM audio engineer. Like? Dislike? What would your 10 test songs be?
1. "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones. Listen for Norah's voice to sound natural, and centered in front of you.
2. "Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez. Listen for strong vocals, and for the instruments to be set across a wide sound stage
3. "No One" by Alicia Keys. Listen for clarity in Alicia's vocals and spacious background sound.
4. "Hotel California" by the Eagles. Listen for the clarity and dynamic range during the opening guitar solo, and of course the powerful drum beat.
5. "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas. Listen for powerful, accurate bass beats, even at full volume.
6. "Rock that Body" by the Black Eyed Peas. Listen clear, intelligible lyrics over the powerful, persistent bass beat.
7. "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap. Listen for the enveloping ambience of the song, building on the openness and dynamic vocals.
8. "He Mele No Lilo" by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu from Lilo and Stitch.Listen for the ambience and staging as the children's chorus is offset by powerful bass.
9. "Bird on a Wire" by Johnny Cash. Listen for the clarity in Johnny's distinctive voice, and his guitar to sound natural and free of any coloration.
10. "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box" by Radiohead. Listen for the punch from the percussive bass, and the ring of the steel drums.

Well, they certainly know how to do their audio systems right.
The Corvette C6 and Cadillac Escalade have amazing sound systems!

Yuck, I don't care for the Bose sound systems I have had in my GM cars at all. The Alpine system in my Jag was just awesome. Sounds like Jag is now using B&W. I'd like to take a listen.
I'd add Levon by EJ for some of the stuff at the beginning of the track. Can't even here some of the instruments on the Bose. The Alpine could tease it out of a 128kbps mpeg

Whoops, forgot to specify. I mean the GM system, not the Bose.
From Corvette Forum:However I will state that after owning two 3 LT's since 2004, the new GS I ordered I had produced in a 2LT, no Nav, no Bose, no HUD/Heated seats etc. And I don't miss any of the bells and whistles at all. I actually prefer the simpler layout. It has the nice high end interior of the 3LT, just without the HUD/Memory seats/heated seats. I am the only driver and had no need for the memory. The heat I never used since its a summer car. I put the money into the clear top again, comp grey wheels, dual mode exhaust and of course a 6 speed, along with two tone Titanium/ebony seats to match up with the Blade Silver exterior. I am very happy. I will also say that the base radio (single CD) blows away the Bose
