CRS+ a center?

Below is from Polk website on vintage products. Is there a mistake or were they using a different concept of center speaker?

I think when they said Center it was meant more as the epicenter of the system.
Everything else revolved around the SDACRS+. -
makes sense...I guess HT systems weren't a big deal yet and "center" was not some term of art yet....thanks....
