I also hated all the shots we got, especially the one on your **** cheek....that one was painful

I don't know if I've ever had a 'flu' shot. But that doesn't mean 'you' should or should not. It's an individual decision and some groups are more at risk than others. But, as said above, there are NO guarantees!
On another note, one thing I notice about this thread is just how many of our members have served in the armed forces. It would be interesting to know exactly how many of our members are in or have served and see what correlative links that might have to other interests, like AV?--sorry that's the scientist in me talking.
As for Gamma Globulin shots. I had two of those for my first trip to China years ago..(I was going to the South Central part of China where there were a lot of air borne (mosquito/insect) diseases among others--including 10-20% of a local population who had either had Hepatitis of were carriers) . I also had two other shots in the my arm that caused it to swell to the size of a Mr. Olympia contestant for a couple of weeks and made it hard to move?Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

Yeah, in your face Polio vaccine. -
Semper FI.
I remember all too well the sore arms and cheeks . The "group" shots hurt like hell too.
Some of the vaccine shots they gave us on deployment to some countries made me sick for a couple of days too.
I've haven't had the newer flu shots lately. I've been considering it since I'm 61 now and have to go through a lot of "work" at the VA on a frequent basis.
I was one of 90 employees that received the flu shots at the company I worked for in '94.
The next day we had 50 employees out sick with flu symptoms. I was one of them.
SICK was a conservative term used. We were told we MUST have had the flu before we received the shots.
