Hey all,

MIT is WAY out of my range for now,
However I am looking into this from signalCable

http://signalcable.com/ultraspeaker.html

I want to BI WIRE at 17ft a pair. If I did my math right $225.00. is total?
Standard 6ft. pair is 109.00 + Bi Wire 50.00 + 11 extra feet add 66.00 = total(minus shipping) of 225.00 is that what I will spend?(please double check) does this sound right?
And also what do some of you gurus reccommend, spades or plugs? If spades, what size?
Thanks for looking guys.

I prefer plugs, easy to plug in and remove if I'm swapping out speakers but even then if I'm not I don't like the thought of having spades since they're exposed.

Edit: Btw, it says $30 for bi-wire and $50 for bi-amp. What did you want exactly?

Bi-amp = 2 sets of terminations on each end.

Bi-wire = 1 set of terminations on one end (to amp/avr) and 2 sets of terminations on the other (to upper and lower binding posts of your speaker).

    Omg,
I guess I should have done some more research on speaker wire... I have been reading up on some of the past posts about this subject! First of all, I am NOT trying to get anyones emotions strirred. Or I am NOT trying to cause any trouble, I just wanted some advice on wire. I just did not want to waste any $$ on useless projects is all.

Please accept my apology and excuse my inability to search and find for myself my own answers before posting! Did not realize this topic was SO touchy.

    Thanks guys,

You're doing fine Trashy Trucker. You asked a very specific question(s). I personally think Signal is great cable for the money. I prefer banana plugs as well. They are just very convenient.

Go for it and if you tell Frank you are a Club Polk member you get 5% off unless there is some other sale going on.

    Hey all,

Took a trip to St. Louis to support a local stereo center and bought some Audio Quest type 8... however it is not the braided series, it is in the nylon jacket.
Man is that stuff expensive! 12 something a ft.
Would like to report I now have them inline, equal lengths. Bi-Amped, terminated with bare ends (yes Jesse I tinned them) I still need to get some quality bananna's. (they were out) Hope I didnt get taken advantage on these? I bought 4 lengths at 17 ft each. 68 total ft. I spent $803.00 out the door! It sure seems to sound better than that crappy 8gauge power wire I tryed first!

Thanks for reading guys, will report back later.

    regards,
    Matt :D

I have to say congrats for giving something above ordinary cable a try, but holy crap that's expensive. You could have gone with some nice MIT's for that kind of $$$.

Again congrats but you could have used the $800 more prudently and gotten even more bang for your buck.

    Enjoy

    Thanks Heiney9,

    Here is what I got:

    http://www.audioquest.com/

click on custom install/solid conductor hyperlitz series.
I have the circular array series, type 8. Again I am using 4 pieces of type 8 that are 17' long. each wire has 8 conductors! 4 for pos. 4 for neg. in each wire. I think it is gonna work out fine. Thanks guys for all your help.
