just what Larry needs, another set of speakers. I called about 30 minutes they went up and left a message and have got no reply from the guy. I was really hoping that no one would throw them on here. OFW!

So what you're saying is, if you can't have them, nobody can? -

I got so excited when I saw the ad I thought the OP was selling them.. My guess is they are gone as I have not heard anything back from the guy as well.. Kevin if you get them I must come up to hear them..

No kidding. I don't know much about those speakers, but I would have jumped at them for $350. I'm not as excited about them for $650, but that's probably still a good deal considering they look like they're in mint condition.
But, instead of looking for even more speakers, I should be spending my money on modding my recently purchased SDA-SRS' (and a set of 2.3's I picked up a few months ago) and a new amp to feed the SDA-SRS' properly... -
Wonder if that's the original seller that raised his price or someone bought them and listed them to make a profit. The pictures look different.
-
Good question, Leroy. If the orignal pictures were bad, maybe he did a little research and decided to relist at a higher price with better pictures. However, if the original pictures looked good enough, I'd bet your right - someone is trying to flip them for a quick $300.
Although, Toolforlifefan said they were "88th and Washington area"... which is Thornton, and that's where they are currently listed as well. -
My guess is they sold & the new owner is trying to make a few bucks.
I would have to demo them for at least a few months, if not years. -

I agree. When you get a smokin' deal like that, at least enjoy the speakers for a while before making a profit. That is, unless the guy already has another pair... but now we are just totally guessing. -
I got them, I got in touch with the new owner and it turns out it was the guy I got the LS90 from, he beat me by 10 minutes. And was on his way when I called. These were originally for sale in Littleton. It was a good deal and he already had a pair of Apogee centaur major and just wanted to see if these sounded better. In his opinion he likes the Apogees better and thought he could make a few dollars by selling them. I got in touch with him and we wound up doing a little horse trading and I came out getting them for about $500 out of pocket. I got them home and just hooked them up in the living room rig to my Adcom 545II and they sound simply amazing. I cannot wait to get them down to the basement rig with more power.:D

nah was taking a break from audio for a while, well forums and upgrades anyway. I have gotten back into photography and really don't have the time or money for both. Seeing how fast the last ones sold I was pretty sure I would not get these epically not having the 650 cash. The first owner in Littleton called me to tell me they sold and said it was a oriental guy named Yen. I recognized the name from the LS90's and when the add came up I sent a e-mail asking if he was the one sold me the ls 90's. I asked why he was selling them so soon and he said it was because he liked his other speakers better and knew he could make some money on them. . He asked if I was interested I said there was no way I could get them without selling some stuff first, so he asked what stuff and one thing led to another. I have not even had time to mess with this today. -
Congrats.
Those are the ones that got me into the ribbon/carver speakers after hearing them. For the price not bad at all and they just sound fantastic to me.
Best of luck and hope you enjoy them for a long long time! -
Congrats on the ALIII's.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day.
