Looking to buy a meter since auto setup just never seems right when I run it on my Onkyo 805. Just wondering what actually works without breaking the bank.

+1 although the guys at AVSFORUM seem to recommend the analog one over the digital. I personally went w/ the digital one and havent had any issues with it to date.

If you poke around the web you will find instructions for modifying the RS meters to extend their range. I haven't done mine yet but it is on my list.

Here are a couple links but there are more out there.

Here's another good article from audioXpress that covers all 3 radio shack SPL meters.

The old analog meter (model # 33-2050 - I have that one) has better frequency response accuracy than the newer analog model or the even newer digital model in regard to bass rolloff and treble response.
