What is everyone's favorite Queen songs? For me it seems that no matter whether it's my I-Pod, a CD, a DVD-A or vinyl Queen consistently sounds great. I just love every song on Night at the Opera. What's cool about that is that I was 7 years old when it came out. Sheer brilliance and I think Freddie Mercury did his best work when he knew the life he had left was brief.

RIP Freddy.

"You Take My Breath Away" off of A Day at The Races. The SQ for a standard CD is quite amazing.

I really like a lot of stuff off their first album. "Doing All Right" is one of my all-time faves.

Their Wembley concert is one of the first albums I can ever remember listening to a million friggin' times.

One Year Of Love - is a great song

These Are The Days of our Lives - another excellent song. Brian's guitar playing is spot on.

and of course Bohemian Rhapsody - even though a lot of people hate this song. it's sheer brilliance.

    We Will Rock You!

    Under Pressure

so many great songs by Queen... to many to list.

Actually I read the story the other day that Sasha Baren Cohen or Borat will play Freddie Mercury in a biopic that is being filmed next year. I think he is a good choice and I think he could give an Oscar worthy performance. While most of his stuff is wacky, he is very good at immersing himself into the character he is playing.

Vanilla Ice couldn't hold you know what. And his effed up sampling doesn't ruin a great song.

Just the opening strains before the vocals come in: The famous bass line AND the electric guitar counterplay.

The bass line is the tension: the "under pressure" part of the song. The pressures of a crazy world.

The guitar is hopefulness: It's the "Why can't we give love that one more chance" lyric in musical form.

Weird...I wasn't even a Queen fan when they were in the heyday.

Freddy Mercury had one of those stellar, one in a million voices and the rest of the band was perfectly complimentary to his style. It also seems like they didn't cut any corners when their LP's and CD's were produced and manufactured.

The Queen / Bowie version of Under Pressure is probably my favorite as I have to admit I'm a bigger Bowie than Queen fan.
