I have used linksys wired routers for a long time. Always work perfect. I have had a couple different wireless routers due to the kids gadgets but it always seems to slow my pc's down just a little. I still have computers wired but it just doesnt work as good. And I run 15 mb speeds. Is this just normal going to wireless routers?

Are your pc's slow all the time or just when the kids are using there "gadgets". Maybe you could elaborate a little on what the gadgets are....

For a few years now, I have always used Professional / Business routers and they have worked flawlessly. On the other hand, most consumer routers tend to slow down after being plugged in for many months, and need to be unplugged once in a while.

To a large extent, going from a Linksys consumer router ($79) to a higher-end Netgear unit provided much better results. Cisco, Netgear ProSafe, and Extreme Networks' units are MUCH better IMO.

Kids dont need to be using anything for me to tell a difference. But I do have 7 tabs that open etc when I am on IE. Wondering if I went to a wired router with a wap plugged into it if that would help.. Its not that it slows it down to the point of frustration. I just notice a difference and wonder why......

And I run netflix through a blue ray and that never seems to have a problem. Probably just need to get over it...
