Active Crossover Option Revisited!

I've been researching on this topics for my line Array Speaker project.
So, I've come down with some final choices since I decided not to do the DIY type active XO. It's simply coz I like to change the XO frequency on the fly while developing speaker project. I won't likely have time to solder back and forth and changing resistors and caps in the active XO boards to fine tune XO frequency.
So, there it is.
1. Accuphase F-25 Active XO (this is expensive option and filter boards are limited)
2. DEQX HDP-3 Preamp processor with reference room calibration which will correct room acoustics for each speakers and I can have 3 channels XO with it.
3. Rane Professional Type XO such as AC24 which comes equipped for 4 ways system. I can use free RTA software such as REW with it to modify XO slopes and fine tuning.
4. Marchand Electronics Active XO such as XM44. It also can be used with REW for fine tuning.
DEQX and Rane both utilize DSP for filter slopes so filter frequency can be changed on the fly while Marchand using true Active XO using Op-amps plugin modules so I need to buy quite a bunch of these cards in order to fine tune the speakers.
Accuphase is legendary in this but it's being really expensive option and requires many filter modules as Marchand.
Anyone here has Experience with Rane Active XO? I am really liking the idea since it's most affordable in the bunch.
The only thing I am afraid is that the sound quality of the Rane is inferior due to cheap parts in it.

Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

While not inexpensive another option would be the Bryston 10B. http://bryston.com/10b_m.html I have the LR version (Linkwitz Riley).I have a number of active xovers but the 10B with it's fully discrete circuitry is IMO the most transparent. You might keep an eye on the gon for a used one.
The DEQX is a wonderfully powerful tool that I would love to get my hands on but even the new 'budget'version is beyond my reach.
Also there is the Behringer DCX2496.While many have nothing but distain for Behringer apparently DCX is a versatile good performing little unit at a reasonable price.(DBX makes a similar product but I can't remember the model number.)
The Rane might not be a bad choice atleast for the experimental stage ,then you could either mod it or move to something better when you have determined the final slopes and frequency of the xover you want use.
Good luck with your line array James.I have another active system in the works aswell. -
I am looking for a rane ac 22b xo to complete my system. My friend is into pro gear and those are the xo and eq's he uses. Is your line array for touring or are you setting it up for massive home stereo?:)KEF Q50 mains, M&K center, Boston Acoustics surround, Marantz SR6007 pre, Emotiva UPA-700, Pioneer DV-46AV, Samsung BD-j7500, Sunfire HRS12 subwoofer

For the drivers you're considering, DEQX."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
