LS 50 woofer

Hey guys.. one of the woofers on my LS 50's is currently coming off of the speaker basket, probably about 1/3 of the way around so easy enough to see the basket underneath... it doesn't seem to hugely affect the sound quality but i'm sure the bass would be tighter if it was fixed.. since it would not be leaking any air. What would be the best way to go about this? superglue around the edges of the basket? any other ideas? or should I just see if I can find a spare woofer from somebody around here?

Hi coolsax, I've got a pair of these LS50's too, have had to replace 1 driver that went bad. I would just buy another driver(either look for a used one here from a fellow polkster or pick up a new one.Good luck, you'll be happy to have them firing on all cylinders again!

Is it the rubber surround that is detaching from the basket? If that is all then you should be able to glue it back down. Parts Express sells glue to do the job.

You will want to do that ASAP too, as a good excursion will short the voice coil. The glue is the ticket if you get to it before more damage occurs. Good luck!-Kevin

yeah thankfully i don't listen to a lot of heavy bass, but I would like to keep the coil from shorting out. ..Main 2ch -
