PS3 3D update Sept. 21

also talked with a guy from my local hifi shop( hifi heaven) and he said he was able to pass 3d thru his pioneer sc-25/27 which isn't 3d ready like the newer pioneer 35/37. Guess I'll see for myself with the ps3 update coming.

    Well, I don't really know about how it works, but the people on NAD mentioned that HDMI1.4 is a software update rather than a hardware update. Correct me if I'm wrong

    Have no idea. I thought it was a hardware update. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could help us out.

    Believe I posted it on another thread but yeah, the HDMI port is the same for 1.3a and 1.4

    HDMI has an extra channel in it that wasn't used at all up until now for 1.4, so it's mainly a software update.
