Soo Emo is now going to be doing a line of products geared towards the custom installers to use.

http://emotivapro.com/products.html

Rumor has it that the price for the pre/pro would be around 3K +/- amp is around the same 3K +/-

So those of you that said they wouldn't make higher end stuff...you're wrong!!! :p;)

I just happen to find it very interesting. With all the problems that were had with the UMC-1 I would have thought they would stop working on the pre/pro's for awhile but guess not. I seriously am wondering what dealers are going to carry them.

High price does not always translate to high end. On the other hand, if they can make gear at 3K that equals or exceeds gear at 10K then more power to them. After all, that is suppossed to be their business model.

And what does gear have to do with custom installers?
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

This line is made for the customer installer/dealer network, not their internet direct sales.

They have yet to make a processor of their own design that actually works correctly, and even then they have always been well over a year late to deliver. I have a feeling it will be years before this pre-pro hits the market, if ever.

I wonder if they licensed another Sunfire design?

I see they raise the bars by rebadging another company's gear!

    How awesome!

EMO has outdone itself again. Congrats EMO. You are truly high end in my books!

I can't see many people going for that gear as Emos market is for a budget product. $3K for a processor is not budget, and I assume that most people (including myself) would rather shell out the $3K (or less) for the newest above mentioned Rotel, or many other brands.

Who knows if it is rebadged... The amp may even be a Carver... oh wait, maybe a Carver is an Emotiva. I get so confused with that one.

If they did, it would be just as outdated as the Sunfires. HDMI switching only, no lossless codecs, etc. How do you charge a premium for that?
