Hi all

Put in Prince of Persia yesterday, and the first theater preview
cost me some concern.
It looks like a up-dated Tron movie. I had the volume @ -17, my room
is 15' x 20'. The audio started out good but as the preview progressed
the distortion increased to a unacceptable level. My normal listening
level is -17. Should my speakers distort at this volume ?
Is the preview recording hot ? Never had a problem with any other
Blur-ray before. My equipment is listed below. Is it the speakers ?
My electronics ? The disc ? or a combination of the above?

AW
Equipment

LSi9 ( Mains )

It sounds like it's your gear. Start over from scratch is my advice. lol kidding. Did you try popping a different dvd in right away to see if it still sounded like garbage?

I wish I could afford all new gear, I would not be asking
questions now!! It happen only on that preview.
It sounded great at the beginning ( DD ).

Is it only that preview that had issues? Did the movie sound fine? Are there any other times that the system was distorted?

It could just be that one preview was poor quality. Just a thought.

I would also test out other material and discs. Your equipment looks fine, and I can't see unacceptable distortion coming from LSis driven by an Outlaw.

agree with the above. test other discs, other previews, ect ect. If it continues its probably a problem with A the player or B the amp or pre amp with the signal. Also is it every speaker that has the distortion or only like one ect. Do a process of elimation, if its one speaker, could be a bad connection ect with that speaker. If its only doing this on the one preview, on the one disc, its probably the disc and a poor recording on it.

Thanks you all for your replies

The sound on the balance of the blu-ray was fine.
I tested two others blu-ray and no problem.
I think Packetjones & cstmar01 have limited the problem
to a poorly recorded preview. Should have thought this thru
myself. Thanks again for your help.
