Equalizer Recalibration

My roommate has a pretty old equalizer that was lying around (ADC Soundshaper ss300sl). It was designed for a low-gain signal from a turntable, so the way we use it with more modern technology, the readout is pretty much constantly maxed out. I was wondering if it's possible to recalibrate the unit somehow so that the "spectrum analyzer" readout would be at a more appropriate level.
My Stereo: Tannoy D100s, Yaqin MC-100B, VPI Traveler, Dynavector 10x5 MC Phono Cartridge, heavily modified Yaqin MS-22B phono preamp, TEAC EQA-20 equalizer, Belkin PureAV PF30 Power Conditioner, Canare 4s11 speaker cables, Custom dust cover from DigitalDeckCovers

That unit doesn't have a dB cut/boost button for the meters does it?

If you use the Tape in it will display and probably sound better. It should be able to handle newer electronics fine.

Also if you are plugging in an Ipod lower the volume on the ipod to just above half. Or you will overdrive the EQ and it will sound like ****.
