I'm quite positive Sunfire amps are Class D, it is how they run cool and achieve their high output claims. B&K makes good equipment for the price, so you're likely better off either way. Congrats on the speakers!Current System:

Wrong.
It is their power supply technology that is efficient.

I'd suggest learning more about audio before you waste that kind of money based on the sober or drunken ramblings of a user forum. You should really take some time to know what you're doing, where it's going to be installed and what you're really trying to achieve. There are a dozen folks here, based on your signature alone, that have bested you by a few thousand....without even touching your new budget. It's not always about money. Good luck.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Come on Mark! I thought my drunken ramblings were quite eloquent! Besides, it's always fun to shop with someone Else's money

Yes, it is different in that it constantly varies / switches the output voltage from the power supply. That's what a Class D amplifier is. His maintains a minimum voltage but is essentially the same thing.
"The Cinema Grand Signature uses a digital switching power supply (Class D), courtesy of Bob's Tracking Downconverter. This circuit maintains the rail voltage just 6 volts above the signal demands, and that makes the power supply very efficient . . . about 95%. In other words, it "tracks" the signal voltage and keeps the supply just above it."Current System:

Amen...As you can see I blasted out of the gate with my system in May, but after some reseach my addiction wont stop here (hear). Since then listening to the club, reading up, and venturing out to demo's can help you make the grand decision, one step at a time...enjoy2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
