Anyone picking up Cowboys From Hell (Remastered)?

I noticed that Cowboys from Hell is being released as a deluxe remastered version today:

http://www.amazon.com/Cowboys-Hell-Deluxe-3CD-Pantera/dp/B003HN7BYA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1284473495&sr=8-2

Is anyone planning to pick this one up today? I'll likely swing by and grab it after work since my original version of this album is scratched to hell anyway. Hopefully they actually put a little bit of time into this remaster to make it sound better rather than just cranking everything up to be louder.

It looks like it's being released by Rhino, which I think has done some good remasters in the past if I'm not mistaken? We'll see...

Let us know how the SQ is, I may have to pick it up regardless though.

I can't say that I that am much of a fan, but I seem to remember this album scoring as one of the absolute worst in terms of compression.

That being said... I've always been extremely happy with anything Rhino has re-released.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Definitely sound off on you guys thoughts in regards to these remasters. Cowboys From Hell was great, but VDOP is, in my humble opinion, the very best metal album ever made. I have never heard another album make me want to stand up and just punch somebody in the mouth like VDOP did/does. OUTSTANDING workout/ getting geared up for sports music.

I agree Larry, any older Pantera isn't far behind though.

    Slayer's Reign In Blood...

I can dig that choice too. My cousin is about as big a Slayer fan as they come; probably seen them 20+times.

I'm still more of a VDOP fan, but that's just me...

Larry, those songs were awful, no wonder I've never heard them before. :D

I couldn't wait for your review Doug, I ordered the disk set from Amazon already.

I only remember 1-2 songs from QR, I was a little young when they were popular.

I can't say anything bad about Dee Snider, we're from the same neighborhood and he appears to be a great guy. He organizes charity bike runs and I've dated one of his relatives. :D

    This arrived the other day.

It certainly is much cleaner than the original, but like the original, it's also on the bright side.
