It's alwyas funny when a country known mostly for starvation has a cuisine named after them.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Bobman. How could anyone doubt you'd come up with something like that.

Honestly. It's my all-time favorite type of food. Just make sure you go for the full experience. That is to say... make sure you get an assortment of stews and meats placed directly on the large piece of injera (sp?) - which is basically a large spongy flat bread that you also use as "utensils". In other words, you tear off a piece of the plate and sop up the goodness.

Be prepared to get messy. But also be prepared for a fun, communal meal. Everyone shares the same "plate". As for the food, it's wonderfully rich and sufficiently spicy. Again... my all-time favorite.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Spot on. There's so much I could recommend, but the key is for everyone to get a little of everything. Sharing is the name of the game, so don't think you'll get stuck with a wrong decision.

Hahaha, yeah I forgot about that one. I liked how they brought a finger bowl with lemon slices in the water to clean up.

Yeah but some very tasty mush! Indian food, aside from chicken and a few others for the most part is mushy too but it provides tastebudgasms.

Bummer! One thing Al, I would suggest you stock up on some Beano before hand because you could cook a meal with a pipe attached to your butt and the other end to the gas stove!:D

Looking forward to your review, Al. Some friends of mine went there - right when it opened, so their review may not reflect what the restaurant's doing now - & said that it was expensive & they didn't get much food.

    Hope you "fare" better! Har!

Ate at an Ethiopian restaurant in DC once some time ago. All I remember is: it was good, spicy, the flat bread zombie boy spoke of, and after my friends wife ordered a meat dish (beef IIRC) the waitress asking her if she wanted it cooked. Not sure in this day and age if serving raw meat will float past the different Dept. of Heath out there, but evidently some of the dishes, if prepared traditionally are served raw. She had it cooked and it was still great IMHO. But it might be something to look for in the small print on the menu.

Also... anything you get on-bone will literally fall apart and dissolve in your mouth. It's definitely all about how tender you can get the meat.

Here's a link to the place I use to go to all the time...

I think all they have beet root, beetle juice, snails fry and honey ants. Don't forget the earth cookie.

I need to try some of that gourmet cuisine some days before the final nail hits my coffin. :D

Wow at the one in Epcot, they had to roll me out the place I was so full and use shoe horns to get me through the doorway. I guess it depends on the restaurant.
