Hi, going to pull the plug on a tfm-42 , but the owner tells me that i need to replace some capacitors on the amp due to its age...He was telling me about a place in Washignton call Ritas that rebuild Carver to its factory condition and actually could get Bob Carver to sign the amps....Done research but cannot find the website..Just want to know if some polkies here has heard of this place or has send their amps to fix in Ritas ? Just want to be sure before i pull the plug on this amp...The carver is for a pair of Sda 2Bs....Any input will help ...Thanks

They exist allright and Mr. Bob Carver probably would sign anything you want on it.
They would go over everything and bring it to like new specification for their flat rate of 350.00 I think.
A 1 yr. guarantee comes with the overhaul to.
The flat rate is firm by the way....
I sent an amp to them for repair a yr. ago. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I would also check out Roland at www.carveraudiorepair.com
I have been REALLY happy with his service and he does get deeper into the product than Rita, Both are good but for the money i would talk to Roland also. -

Another vote for ROlland, he will go over top to bottom and do the worked required.

Rolland would also be closer to ship too than WA if you're in Florida.. I think he's in Illinois or somewhere close IIRC

If he's in IL that would rock since I might need some work done to my Carver AV-705x and might be able to drive it out there...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I thought when I was looking around I found a guy in Ohio or NY, but I didnt bookmark it. Personally I would go with Rita or the other mentioned person."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Why ?
Ever used Rolland ?
My TFM-45 was repaired by Rita a year before I bought it. Owner had receipt.
Went to Rolland 8 months later for peace of mind and I am glad I did.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

My carver 1.5 was serviced by Rita's- that was one of the reasons I bought it. Carver audio repair is the only Licensed repair center designated by Sunfire. They handle all Carver stuff.
There's one more place- the guy who makes the "Mark ll" series of amp improvements.
Maybe someone here could tell me what they think of this guy. I'll see if I can't get the link
