Frustrated with "search"

I'm wondering what the trick is. I want to search for threads that discuss SDA 3.1's, but the search doesn't seem to like the number. it just goes no where, putting it in parentheses. I haven't seen a sticky 'how to use the search feature', so I'm looking for tips. If I'm having a brain-dead night here, I'll blame it on an afternoon in the sun and apologise in advance.
Thanks,
Jim

The Club Polk search engine really stinks to be polite. They should take some notes from Google.

+1 I is terrible. I get a kick when someone complains about someone's post because they did not use the search to look for previous posts for their answer.:rolleyes:HT System

Min chars to search for is 4 so 'lsi' or 'sda' won't yield any results.
Also punctuation doesn't work right either-its inconsistent, so '2.3tl' won't yield any results.
Best bet is to use the Google site search feature which limits the Google search to a specific site such as the following (enter exactly in the Google search field(not the one at the top of the Club Polk forums):
site:www.polkaudio.com/forums +"sda 3.1" (or this link)
Don't forget to try the other variants of how a model may be mentioned such as 'sda3.1', 'srs 3.1' or 'srs3.1', etc
You can use any of the other Google search parameters to further narrow down the search if you wanted to as well.____________________

This is crazy but true. I generally use google to locate threads in the forum.
A nice trick to know is to place "**** xxxx site:Polkaudio.com" in the google.com search box (minus the quotation marks) where **** xxxx is what you want to search for.
For example, if I wanted to find Monitor 5's for sale I would go to google.com and enter "monitor 5's for sale site:Polkaudio.com" in the search box.
P.S.: SDA 3.1 :Polkaudio.com works like a charm as does lsi site:Polkaudio.com
