Rti4 question...speaker stand top plate dimensions

What would be the recommended top plate dimensions on a speaker stand for a pair of RTi4s. Most of the stands I've been seeing, have top plates in the 6" x 6" range. It seems to me that would be too small to support an RTi4, even if I use blue-tack. Any ideas? suggestions?

You're right, most of the stands out there seem to be 6 X 6".
Given the fact that the RTi4s are 7" Wide and 11.5" Deep, I could only find two stands that would have big enough top plates:

I had looked at those previously, but I need something at least 36" high. I am using the RTi4's as surrounds and need them at ear level. -
I was wondering about the height as well...
I'm in the same ballpark as you, if I come across some stands that are little higher...I'll copy and paste the link.HT: RTi8s, CSi3, RTi4s, HSU ULS-15, Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH, Sunfire Cinema Seven.

These are the tallest I've found, made by KK Audio: http://www.kkaudio.com/stands.html
They come in a 48" high model, which would put the tweeters at close to 5', although the wife might have something to say about such a tall speaker stand in her living room.
I'm still confused about the whole height issue. Some things I've read say the tweeters should be at ear-level, others say 2 - 3 feet about ear level (which in my case would require a 5 - 6 foot tall speaker stand!). -
I am using rti4 as surrounds and i placed them directly on the walls at about 5 feet from the ground.
I honestly beleive that they are a bit high for my taste and will bring them down about one feet. In conclusion i would put them no more than one feet from ear level, depending on your seating posiion that defines which height you need on stands.
