Went to the ABC store after work to get some Pinnacle Vodka. The cashier directed me to a bottle with 2 mini bottles hanging off it. The Minis are Pinnacle Whipped. She told me to mix it with OJ, and I will be damned, tastes just like a Dreamcicle that we all had as kids. You gotta try some this weekend,
just do not let your Bud drinking buddies see you with one!!

Not really a Vodka drinker but that sounds good! You ever tried any of the sweet tea vodka? It is amazingly good! I tried some last weekend that is made by, I think, Everclear.

I've found Level 42 Below, Effen and Vox to be some cheaper alternatives to top shelf depending on what's on sale, and where you live I guess.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Effen and Vox aren't bad especially if you mix. Not bad for a Martini either but it's still Grey Goose or Stoli's for me if I'm not on a budget. Kettle One is right up there as well. I love Vodka.........well I really love most spirits :D

I like Kettle1 as well but it's a bit pepper based and hot when shot. Effen actually has a bit of vanilla to me. Heck, it's all a bit different depending on who you are I guess. I tried some Smirnoff Triple Distilled a couple weeks ago....awful and every bit as bad as Absolut.

check out Ultimat, Chopin, Stoli Elite, Level (is OK over priced IMO), Kettle One, Russian Standard (bottle is all in Russian so good luck!), Death's Door (WI based but goood) and last but not least and is acutally my fav but hardest to find these days Christiania.

I love vodka, love love love it. A lot of them I can drink on the rocks and is a good night, otherwise dirty martini is the best. Shooting is OK but don't always get to "enjoy" the vodka as much.

If mixing, a good one that ladies really like is Grey Goose Pear Vodka and Lemonade, sounds bad but is really really good.

I dislike Absolut very much. The Absolut Pepper isn't too bad in a Bloody. 3 Olives isn't bad for the price and I do like Belvedere occasionally. Chopin is another that is very acceptable. As trendy as it is, or maybe was, I still like Grey Goose the best if I had to choose just one.

There are many Vodka's out there now that I haven't even tried so perhaps a taste test is in order.

Grey Goose is almost sweet to me in regards to a taste....just excellent. Yep, 3Olives is ok...Belvedere a bit more raw than Goose if that makes any sense. I tend to use Goose as my bar, so to speak.

Yeah, the Vod shelf has increased since Grey Goose was introduced in the late 90's. I 100% agree on Absolut...it's just plain awful alone but has purpose in a Bloody Mary.

I know what you mean on the sweet w/ Grey and it's very smooth to me but still has body, not wimpy like some cheaper Vodkas. Belvedere does have a slight bite but I get used to it after a few long sips also a nice body.

My mouth is actually watering thinking about an ice cold Martini. :p

Rev, that Sweet Tea Vodka is dangerous stuff.........had some of those concoctions sitting out on the deck at a local watering hole. Gets you feeling frisky in no time.

I agree. Belvedere has a different taste...thicker? than GG. I wouldn't call it bite...think about the bite from Absolut...just as an aside but it's not as smooth as GG.

You know that if you tossed a high quality fuse inside vodka, much like a worm, it tastes better? I'm just being a dork Brock.

I've travelled over much of Eastern Europe and tried home made vodkas In Slovakia they make a plum vodka and the ones I've tried were really smooth and nice, I wouldn't try any of the home made stuff, though, unless I were with a local that I could trust. But making genuine friends there is pretty easy, so that isn't much of a problem.

Now the one I've always been tempted to buy and bring here to the U.S. just to show to people is Cannabis Vodka. lol

Agreed. It's a 45 dollar glass skull with free crappy vodka in it.

Did it come that way, or are you using it as a decanter?

    Decanter.

I didn't mind the vodka at all other than it was overpriced but that's because of the bottle.

We are big fans of Chopin right now. We drink it straight. It's clean and fresh! We also have enjoyed k1 and goose ( which I find is becoming the veuve cliquot of vodka) last week we wanted a simple drink but all we had 7 up as a mix, we made a Chopin 7 and boy it was so good. The mix of the sweetness from the 7 combined with the vodka, Chopin took the super sweet edge off the 7. I don't like to mix good booze but this was just tasty!

I had a near death vodka experience when I was 17.....to this day, I can't even smell it without wanting to yak. The near death part is not much of an exaggeration.

Same here (excluding the near death part;) though it felt like it). The first time I drank was doing shots of vodka, which also meant the first I puked from drinking, the first (and only) time I blacked out, then came my first hangover uhh.... Now even thinking of drinking vodka straight makes me wanna puke. Screwdrivers I can handle.
