Wireless PC to Stereo - How to..

I want to eliminate the 20 foot cable I am now using to connect my PC to stereo system. I've reviewed several wireless devices, and it appears the AudioEngine W1 is the most direct/easiest way to have a plug & play solution, avoiding installation of software, bridging through wireless home systems, etc.
Does anyone use AudioEngine W1? Are there other less expensive options? I basically want to play MP3s and streaming internet stations from my PC to great new Polk Audio speakers just purchased via HK receiver.
Thanks for any guidance on PC to Stereo wireless solutions!

Several at CP including myself use the Logitech Squeezebox solution, the Duet in particular, It requires the PC run their free server software which provides among other things a great way to organize and find your music/Internet radio. The system runs on an existing wireless home network.
Sorry have not used the AudioEngine W1, so can't provide any real user experience. It sounds like it is a 2.4GHz wireless point to point solution.....basically taking the place as you say of an existing interconnect. I found very little in the way of audio specs for it, but if your interest is compressed mp3 audio, and streaming Internet radio it may be a great solution for your requirements.SDA SRS 1.2

I don't own a pc, but I have a mac mini wired on my home network and use a 2nd mac laptop to connect to the mac mini wirelessly over my network.
It works great.

I use a PC netbook connected to my DAC via a USB cable to play .flac/.mp3 files streamed wirelessly over my home wireless network..
Lots of options to get this done.. just pick the easiest/more cost-appropriate option for you
