I was under the impression that the SL2000T and the RDO-194 were the same driver, but today I saw something that confused me. My uncle discovered an unopened box from June 1999. It is stamped with "Contents: SL2000T". The back of the tweeters say only SL2000, and are dated 1994. The dome is the translucent yellow color (like the SL2000) not black like the current RDO-194.

Are the SL2000T and the RDO-194 really the same? Did they go through different product revisions?

No they are not the same. The RDO-194 is the replacement and an improved tweeter over the original SL2000. The RDO's have a silk dome not a mylar dome like the SL's. This helped improve the smoothness and got rid of the Nasty peak at 13khz.

Ah, you're right. Thanks. I just found this thread from some years ago. its an interesting read:

On the other hand, there is definitely misinformation about this floating around. I found numerous threads where people claimed that the SL2000T was the same as the current RDO-194, but actually it is the same (or nearly
the same) as the SL2000. The RDO-194 dome is black and looks unmistakably different than the SL2000/SL2000T.

    Anyone want/need a pair of mint SL2000T :)
