Can one buy a prepaid AT&T phone and then take the sim card out of a current AT&T phone on a monthly service plan and use it in the phone? Reason I am asking is that my kids are breaking phones left and right and I am stuck in my plan for another year. You can new AT&T prepaid phones for less than $10.00 on AT&T website. Seems like a cheap way to get replacement phones. Is it possible? Thanks, Jeff

Both I and a friend have done it when we broke our iPhones. Popped out the SIm and threw it in a prepaid. No problems at all.

If for some reason AT&T does block it, call them and tell them to F off and fix it. You're paying for teh service, regardless of what phone is being used.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
