Helped my son lower his S2000 this weekend

I love working with my youngest son on his cars. We lowered his 2004 Honda S2000 1" using Eibach springs this weekend. Came out nice I think.

The beauty of the S2000 is we did not have to remove the front lower ball joints like on his other Acura's. ON the S2000 there is a ball joint mount with 2 bolts to the knuckle.

Typically we end up tearing the boots and have to replace them. Not this time.

I have helped him install headers, cat back exhaust, drilled and slotted front rotors and cold intake on this car.

I've got the same year and model, but in silver. Great little cars though I'm reeling from the price of new tires for it!

What was the reason for lowering the s2k? It already takes corners fantastically well.
Lovin that music year after year.

We dropped it 1" using Eibach springs. He just wanted to lower it no particular reason I guess.

He said it tighted up the ride and in his opinion has a better ride.

Pretty amazing the HP they squeeze out of the I4.

Ya know I'm not usually into fixing up tuners lean more towards muscle cars (tuner style) but the Honda 2000 is more of a cross between a tuner and muscle car and I think that looks really nice. I've actually seen people take LS1 350's and stick in there!

He takes a lot of pride in his cars, unfortnately he has had a 94 Intregra GS-R and 2003 RSX Type S stolen.

I both cases we had lowered them, changed sway bars, new upgraded bushens, shocks, springs, headers, cat back and cold intake.

This one is parked in garage but he moves up the chain each time. We buy them right which is a one owner with just toward top end of miles with always serviced by Honda/Acura.

This S2K was owned by a 50 year old women and every service was by Honda and she required Mobile 1 for all oil changes.

Very nice. A guy I work with has a grey one, cool looking cars, kind like the Miata which I like as well.

Those cars are silly fast with the 230+ hp and no weight to the thing.

In college, walking between classes one day, I was walking down a road that was under construction. The asphalt was all torn up, and thus the pothole covers were all sticking up several inches.

One of the (brightly orange painted) covers had a scuff on it, and then there was a trail of oil running several hundred feet down the road... and ending with a kid staring dejectedly at his car.

A very lowered VW decided to drive down this road, and managed to hit his oil pan on one of those covers. Why on Earth the oil pan would be the lowest point in the undercarriage I have no idea, maybe just lucky aim on the driver's part, but either way, he was going fast enough to either tear it off or damage it enough to blow a hole in it.

    Gotta suck.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

You know as much as my dad cleans his bike and works around the yard, I was hopping that he would get into cars with me. Almost hope he shows interest in my new project car but I doubt it. Anytime I work on my car I hear "why are you doing this or that to it" intend of what are you doing son need a hand? He knows I am into cars and want to even get into the engines more but he just does not seem to get involved I wish he did.

Anyway nice work and nice car.

I might not be your Dad's thing but I hear you.

I am fortunate that my son and I can spend quality time working on cars, yard work and most anything together.

    I appriciate our bond.

My oldest son, well that is a different story.

When I first read it I thought you were talking about lowering SL2000's tweeters in a cabinet. I thought to myself, this I got to see.

    Carry on.
