Ne Apple TV and a transport?

I just bought one of the new Apple TVs for my HT but I wonder if it will be a good wireless transport to a 2 channel rig. I would think if you use the tos link out to a DAC you could just use an iPod touch/iPhone/iPad as a remote and be good to go. Let me know what you guys think as it might be a fairly cheep solution if you already have one of the 3 i devices i mentioned earlier.
