Hi,

I purchased these new in the early 90s and can't remember what the specs are. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Nelson.

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!

+1, looks like you have a near mint set of Monitor 5s. Your specs:

They look like Monitor 5B with the Sliver Coil Dome tweeter but I don't ever recall seeing them in black.

I've had a couple of pairs in black but I haven't seen any pre '87 models with SL-2000s in them. I'm sure not the Polk expert though.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for the help so far. Guess I should have checked the back of the speaker. Clearly identifies them as Monitor 5s.:o

The speakers suffered a bit of water damage and the bottom of the speaker box is separating a bit. Any suggestions on what I should do? Would you leave them alone or try to correct it somehow?

To be fair, I may end up selling the pair. Don't want you to be giving me a bunch of help only to turn around and find out I've sold them off.

    Thanks,
    Nelson.

Well you can't sell them here, but good luck!
