Just bought these goodies and had a little question. What is the break-in period for these speakers? Reason I ask is that I'm not that impressed so far. Hoping that they will get better in time. Might be that I am under powering them also, but my amp is fairly descent. Its a Marantz sr8002 with 125watts per ch. Was hoping not to have to spend on bi-amping.

I heard those speakers in a Fry's theater room. They were powered by a high end Yamaha AVR.
They were great! I was actually eyeing those speakers for my own eventual HT setup before the opportunity to buy an set of SRT speakers presented itself.

During the same audition, I was given the opportunity to hear the LSI25, LSiC and matching surrounds.

LSIc more musical and refined, but for home theater? RTiA all the way. And the center channels? Not even close. RTiA all the way.

Welcome to CP.Don't judge those speakers just yet. The Marantz I feel is a good match for the RTI line but it will not have the power to really get the most out of those. That said let them break in and give it a couple of weekends of music listening . Like many here will tell you a external amp will make a differance. But my first improvement that I heard on my RTi12's was going from cheap monster speaker cables to a pair of AQ4's. Even older monster cables like the monster ultra 1000 will make a improvement which you can find pertty cheap nowadays. If you can find MIT's or AQ's even better. There are many here that will offer their suggestions but amp and cables would be the first steps if after time you are not happy.
    HT System

Thanks for the welcome and thank you for all the suggestions. I was honestly thinking of getting an Emotiva xpa-2 for my A9's and let my Marantz power the rest. Was just kinda hoping that having spent 2000$ on an avr would have been enough and it was just a matter of break-in but I guess not. As Tim Allen always said "MORE POWER"

Well for now kinda found a temporary solution. It would appear that my Marantz amp is capable of doubling power output(250 watts/ch) by using multichannel or speaker 'c' outputs as well as front outputs. I lose my third listening zone but the added power helps quite a bit for now.

my monitors sounded different/better after about 2 weeks of playing them daily... some say to take 48 hours of play time as a break in period, not sure how true that is, but i would say give it some time.

Also, speaker placement(location/angles) and frequency settings will have an impact on sound quality, so play around with all of that too.

I heard a big difference in the sound quality of my system once I got everything dialed in.
I was not impressed with it when I first got it, I couldn't be happier now! :D
