24" monitors

Hey guys:

I've got a rather nice bonus coming my way tomorrow and wanted to see what your thoughts were on the best bang for the buck 24" monitor.

I've got 1 here at work that I bought myself a couple of years ago, and would like to add another as I need as much desktop real estate as possible for these larger spreadsheets.

The cheapest/best looking deal I've seen is a 24" from Dell for around $200. I'm leaning heavily towards that one unless there is a strong consensus to "buy brand/model x, it's worth the price difference."

And as I mentioned, this is for work, so I don't need something for video games or watching streaming media.

Thanks.

I usually lean towards Acer for monitors - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009245

but for $200, the Dell seems like it would be a good deal.

Not a bad Acer, but it lacks HDMI input.

I paid 210 for my Asus 24" Monitor that IMO would be better than the one posted above (I compared both and a few others before buying one).

Better resolution, better picture quality (IMO).

Dell makes some of the best around but they are pricey. I bought one for 550 and really like it. You can tilt it so that it either landscape or portrait.

I'm using a 26" Visio 1080P for a monitor. It also can do double duty as a TV.

This is the Dell I had in mind:

    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-1070

Doesn't seem bad at all for $200. And I'm not even worried about HDMI, as I'm going to use this solely at work.

That's a nice alternative Kawizer. Looks pretty similar to the Dell in regards to specs, but a bit nicer resolution?

I just bought a Samsung 23" LED and love it. It's a bit pricey at $309.00 though.

    I prefer ASUS, No Dell.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

What's wrong with Dell doro? Are they using cheap panels now or something?

I did see a nice Asus for about $220 on newegg...

Just not my choice based on some failures at work and otherwise. I'm sure you'll get a handful of of choices.

I've had Dell, Samsung, and Acer in the past. All very nice screens, I'm currently using LG monitors and love them. Very nice and clean image.

+ 1 on the Asus. Mine is 24" 1080p w/ HDMI and a built in web cam. I think I paid $225 for it on newegg about a year ago. Definately the best band for your buck.

    +1

I would never again buy anything Dell, too many problems over the years.
