Maybe better.....but for those of us "XO challenged" individuals, a kit with instructions like this is attractive.

The Monitor 10 is one of the simplest crossovers there is.

Instructions are NOT needed on this one. IF you can't do this without instructions you have NO business owning any soldering iron.

The parts used in this kit are going to leave you with less than the desired results.

You have 2 crossovers only take one apart and upgrade it. Use the other one as your instruction sheet repeat this step on the other crossover. Using a solding iron is your bigger challenge..

soldering iron? like a branding iron?....curling iron?....how about just an arc welder?

    I prefer to use superglue.....

I didn't say I was getting this kit. Just saying that a kit in general for XO upgrades would be a nice alternative for some. Guess I shoulda been clearer. ;) Kinda like building tube amps, for most buying the parts and assembling them is much easier than figuring out what parts go good together or are compatible or will yield the desired results.

It's a crossover though....you replace said-cap with another cap of matching value.

If you don't know the value of the cap/resistor, this forum (and alot of other speaker manufacturers) can provide such information.

These kits are a waste of money IMO; spend it on some better caps.

The best part of this kit is the "MODIFIACTION Manual". Can't wait to read it!

I found all the instructions I needed right here at CP. Never soldered a thing before and my 10"s turned out fine!! :)

My 2 cents and experience- When I first started out, this type of kit and seller were VERY helpful for me as a newby. Now once you get your eyes inside a Polk speaker, you start understanding what the heck everyone on this site is talking about. Hence, for beginners it's not a waste of money, but a great teaching tool. Just think about that before going out and buying top of line compnents only to potentially ruin them during your first mod.

No Mole', didn't order it. Just read the title in the picture of the posting. I did just "order" a set of Monitor 10A. Picking up a week from Saturday if all checks out well. From pictures and my discussion with seller these should be Minty.

Then I will be joining the "Mod" club as these will need crossover upgrades as they are unmodified.

They also come with stands, and from my reading on here, seem to be hard to find. Will post pictures when I get them home.
