75 Ohm Digital Coax recommendation

I currently use a Signal Cable 75 ohm digital coax from my DVDp to my outboard dac. I now need a 75 ohm coax to go from my Squeeze Box touch to my outboard dac. I could be boring and go with another Signal Cable but I found some others.

I'd like to keep it fairly reasonable (around $50) but I have been so impressed over the past years with MIT that I will fork over more money for an MIT recommendation.

Here's what I'm looking at so far.

Canare DigiFlex Gold I

MIT Terminator 3

MIT AVt D1

I've head good things about the DH Labs D-75

Here's another one I'm strongly considering, especially for the cost.......seems like a no-brainer, but I can be patient.

Cardas High Speed Data Cable - $77 for .5m cable

It's a solid cable that I felt no need to upgrade when I had it.

    +1

Built very well with Canare ends and sounds great from my CDP to AVR. The owner also is a super nice guy and took his time to explain to me about this cable.

These are Toslink's not Coax, but I assume I can follow your recommendation on Sonic Wave Coax cables too? I have a Sonic Wave Toslink on the computer rig.

Err... its digital. I'm not one of the cables do not matter folks, but if your DAC has any kind of reclocking, which most good ones do, this is going to make zero difference to your system. I'd buy this one entirely on looks as long as its halfway decent.

That's sort of my take on the digital cable, I'm not going to buy the ultra cheap model but perhaps something in the middle that looks nice, is terminated well and I need it to be fairly flexible.

With my W4S DAC, I couldn't hear a difference between the Sonic Wave Toslink or my Signal digital coax cables. And since you're using a DVD player as a transport(in a HT rig?), it may not be a bad idea to electrically isolate it from your rig. YMMV.

Yeah I could do that except my dac has 2 coax inputs and 1 Toslink. Here's where it gets complicated.

On the SQB Touch I have the option of Coax or Toslink
On the DVDp I have the option of Coax or Toslink
On the Plasma TV I only have the option of Toslink

I have a 2ch rig so I run the Toslink from the TV to the dac. That means the other 2 devices I need to run coax or I have to unplug the toslink which has been a PITA. If I had an AVR (which will never happen in this rig) I could run HDMI and forget the Toslink from the TV.

I rarely listen to cd's on the DVDp since theoretically they should all be in my digital library but that doesn't always happen in a timely fashion or if someone brings a disc over, etc. So that's needs to be hooked to the dac.

Toslink is pretty much out for either the SQB or DVDp although since I use the DVDp as a music player so little I could stand having to change Toslink cables between it and the TV. I am not paying for an optical switcher, I already thought of that and a nice one is about $50, not worth it to me.

So there you have it, my long winded post.
