Tell me about the Thorens TD316

I have the chance to pick one up for 175 canadian. It's supposedly in great shape. Has a Shure cartridge and Thorens belt in good condition.
To those in the know (since I know f-all) is this a fair price for the table?
Is there anything I should look for during a pre-purchase exam?
Is this an easily upgradable table if I feel the urge to tweak?

Looks like a good starter table. As always, try to talk him down. I don't know if an upgrade is possible on this one.>

OMG, this thing sounds awesome! That is, compared to my old and broken Pioneer TT with a 5 dollar ebay cartridge!
175 well spent. -
It's hard to beat the Thorens. Nice pick up and glad you like it.
