So I took off my rti8 grill and found a wrench stuck to the magnetic silk dome tweeter while it was playing.

Cant believe this. Dome is now dimpled.

Will this ruin my tweeter?

I must have had it laying on top and never realized it when I moved it one day. O boy.

Last time i spoke to customer service about my tweeter dome that was accidentally pushed in, they mentioned to use the sticky portion of a masking tape to help pull it out again. Totally solved the cosmetic headache and I didn't notice any probs with the sound at all.

If it sounds ok now, then it's fine. Use the tape trick if you like, or just put the grills back on.

Try your favorite music, then report back.

After your speakers has worked for a bit you should no longer notice. The silk dome are actually there to avoid dust to penetrate between magnet and coil so it doesn't affect the effectiveness of your speakers.
