Halo Reach

Is anyone else picking this one up when it comes out in a few weeks?

Halo was what brought me into buying a 360 and moving on from there and I will still play it from time to time. The story of this is interesting and they totally redid a lot of things so it will be cool to see what they came out with.

I wasn't a fan of Halo 3... and I didn't buy ODST. But I'm liking what I've seen of Reach so far, so I think I'm picking it up.

I really wanted to finish up the latest bargain bin grabs before getting REACH but i doubt that's going to happen. More in it for the Solo / Co-op than the Multi.

I think this will be different than ODST by a long shot. Mainly as from what I can remember from the story line this really isn't a happy game...

but ODST was good, however was not really what I was looking for as the mulitplayer wasn't really anything new ya know. I think this will be good guess just gotta wait a bit mroe for it.

Did you like Halo 2? I played that game probably more than any other. But I only played halo 3 for like 20 minutes at a friends place. I thought as soon as I got a 360 I would buy it but never did. I guess I felt I play enough FPS on the 360 with COD and half life. Still looking for a good non-fps on the xbox, all I have is GTAIV and halo wars (which I couldn't get in to either, especially GTA yawn)

Anyways, sorry for the derail, if it gets great reviews I might pick it up, I need a new game bad.

I loved Halo 2, but... I hate Halo multiplayer in all respects. Every game I've ever played has been nothing but constant death by grenade, to the point that it's just not fun. There's no strategy to it, and most of the time you're dead before you even know what happened. I doubt Reach will change that much, since most people seem perfectly happy with Halo's multiplayer in the past. To me, however, it is gimped. It's as frustrating as World At War's multiplayer was with all the spawn-camping.

But I'll probably get Reach for the co-op stuff, which is what I've been more into lately. I do wish there was a new Rainbow Six game coming soon though, 'cause I miss me some terrorist hunt. Can't wait for the new Ghost Recon though!

I'll be picking it up. I have only played Halo 3 but I loved it. Until I started playing COD it's all I would play online. I love the fact that in order to win multi-player, people usually have to work together a lot more than other online shooters.

same way I was. Until I came across COD this is all I would play and did for a very long time. I loved it, however 12 yr old would be annoying but overall it was great.

Amazing trailer, great mix between live action and cgi, don't see this too often in game trailers. Hope the game delivers.

I've never played Halo, and probably never will. I have yet to find an FPS on the console that was fun to play.

I not only pre-ordered it, but paid it in full 5 months ago....and of course you have to get the legendary version of the game (need another statue to go with the Helmet) :)

It is getting closer and closer. I can not wait. I was thinking that we should get a list of gamer tags for Polk members so that we can play together. If you want to add your tag here we can get a list of polk peeps.

My tag is "P Jones". Send me a friend request and say you are from polk forums.

If Civilization V weren't coming out next week, I'd probably pick this up. Between Starcraft II and Civ V, my PS3 and 360 are going to be neglected for a while =)

Has the gameplay changed much? I know they mentioned a new engine. I was never a fan of the way Halo plays.....kinda slow to me.

I pick my copy up tonight on the way home from work. Only problem is I am soo tired I dont even want to try to play it. Running on 6 hours of sleep in about 3+ days. Even caffeinee eventually loses its potency lol

Only put in a little over an hour as I have been crazy busy at work lately. Tomorrow I am going to place the figurines next to the Master Chief helmet on my desk at work which, will just make me want to play more.

Even from the limited amount of playing I was able to put in last night, I have to say that the feel of the game is superb. Currently I am going through on Heroic as I will be going through again, collecting all of the skulls on Legendary in some co-op, with a friend. It is a great balance of difficulty while still making you feel like a badass.

Only got to play like the first 3 levels last night, but I dig it so far. My usual co-op crew was offline or didn't get the game though, so I was playing solo. Will get some more time in on it this weekend after I hook up my new speakers and recalibrate everything.

Got my dipoles up and running, re-did MultEQ XT, and played some Reach in DPL-IIz Height last night. Man... I'm so glad they improved the audio engine since Halo 3's weak surround sound! The weather effects really envelop the room in 9.1, and the sound is far more directional (meaning no more sneaking up on me from behind). So far, I dig the hell out of it.
