I found this link today at parts connexion.

http://www.partsconnexion.com/prod_pdf/hft_facts.pdf

I am looking at trying one or two brands such as IsoClean or the new HiFi Tuning Silverstar fuses. Looking for some feedback from forum members that maybe have tried some of these.

I ask this question not knowing if this is another hot button topic like cables and wire! If it is, sorry, my intention is not trolling for a fight, just wondering if this may be a good tweak. The PDF gives some data that I found interesting, but I know it all really rests in ones own ears!

It's a shame you have to feel that way. Just because there are naysayers of tweaks and cable and wire who vehemently try to beat down and save you from yourself doesn't mean you have to apologize for trying them out and seeing for yourself and by asking questions. . . eff them!

It's your money and your experience!;)

It is all about the music after all, but tweaking and trying to improve that sound of music is really a big part of the fun of this hobby! 'nuff said!;)

If you do a search for Isoclean in here, a bunch pull up. Including DarqueKnight's current excellent review.

Thanks hearingimpaired for the advice. I will keep that in mind as I move forward in this hobby.

My new audio journey is only 9 months in the making thus far. It has been incredibly satisfying and I know I am hooked. Part of the fun has been, with my limited budget, I have had to slowly progress and realize that there is still so much to learn and avenues to take such as dedicated two channel and tubes.

That said, last night I sat with my 15 year old daughter and watched the Blue Ray concert video, "Talking heads: Stop Making Sense". The music sounded awesome on my "MidFi" system and my daughter said they were dancing to two of these songs last week at her high school dance and really enjoyed sharing this with me and music from my college days. Another dimension of this hobby that makes it all worth it. Finding ways to stay connected and not out of touch with younger generations and sharing the experience of music!:)

That's an awesome album; probably one of the best live recordings ever. BTW who's to say you system is "MidFi?" If you like the way it sounds and love the music, it really doesn't matter. Plus I really don't of anybody who started out with a "high end" rig. I know it took me years to get to the level I am at and I'm happy with it. However . . . dum de dum dum!:D

I've played that many time for my younger son along with the Beatles "LOVE" LP and Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here LP" as well as many others and he really loves it. I try to keep him involved with good music at least what I consider good music.;) We were listening to Offspring yesterday . . . great stuff!

    Sorry for the derail.

Indeed! When I started out, I had a Lafayette receiver (55 wpc wooo) a crappy Technics turntable, no-name brand 3 say speakers w/15" woofers, and used the stock IC and 16 g speaker wire. My first step up was all Pioneer gear (silver faced of course) with a graphic EQ and a cassette deck . . . I thought it was the **** back then.
