Monitor 4a tweeter replacements

I just received a pair of Monitor 4a speakers. One of them is missing the tweeter. In the other one, the tweeter has the following marks on the magnet - so far, I've not been able to ID the manufacturer from the marks:

K01870626-1
4 Ω 4699
Taiwan

The tweeter measures 3 1/8" x 3 1/8", 7/8"deep, 2 3/8" magnet.
I think they are SL1500's but have not been able to find them anywhere.

Any suggestions on what I should use as replacement tweeters?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

(FYI the woofers are clearly identified as MW6502)

the size you posted is for the earlier tweeter, not the Series II SL1500. I have a pair of Mon 4A's (per the serial # label) from 1985 with the same looking tweeter, but the stamping on the back is different than that....

However the tweeter in the VS-25's I have look the same and have similar stamping.

There are some on PartsExpress for $7ea, but IDK if they are as good. I would get a pair so they match, but for $14 bucks its worth getting you up and running, until you can find a vintage one to match the vintage one you have, assuming you do not like the PE ones.

kcoc321- Thanks for the suggestion. I had not noticed that unit (279-116) when I looked online at Parts Express yesterday. At $7ea, I'll order a pair tonight.

interestingly, my Mon 4a's have bevel cabinets, and are from 1985, according to the date stamp on the MW driver.

I've got about a dozen laying around gathering dust.
How about I send you a nice pair for $10 to your door? I've got gaskets and screws for ya also if needed.

    Harry -
Thanks. If they're in good condition, sure, $10 for a pair sounds like a good deal and I'd appreciate having original Polk tweeters rather than aftermarket no-name replacements. Let me know how you would like to proceed.

The $10 will cover the shipping costs and I'll PM you the info you'll need. I'll need your address to ship to.
I'll match you up a nice pair and include a couple of gaskets and screws to make it an easy install.
Nice pick up on the M4s btw.

Hey Harry, Where did you get all of them? As in what speakers did they come out of? I might be interested in a set, if they are the same or better than the ones my VS25's have?? (IF that offer is open to others as well)

These came out of a lot of the M4s mostly.
Sure, I haven't heard back from the FNG so they're yours IF you want them. I closely matched up a pair and other than pack and ship they're ready to go. I'll PM ya.

I have the Taiwan and Japan models. The Taiwan have the larger magnet structure to them but otherwise appear the same. First two pics are of the Taiwan and second two are of the Japan.

    Harry,
If you still have the tweeters (Taiwan model) I'd like a pair. Let me know and I'll send pmt via paypal as soon as I hear back from you.
