Hello everyone,

I am now a proud owner of the RTI28's. I am using them as the front pair in a HT setup on stands. I have a Harman Kardon AVR525 receiver(awesome by the way). I purchased the RTI28's as an intermediate while I build my home system. Eventually I would like to get the LSI25's for the front and move the RTI28's to the rear, but I noticed that the LSI25's are 4 ohm. Would I need to purchase a seperate amplifier for these speakers and I so where can I find a good one?

Polk FXi-30 (have nowhere to put them just yet)

What do you have for a center, rears....if you would, give us a rundown of your rig.

Me, personally, I would advise against mixing and matching the LSi and RTi series. I would suggest going one way or the other. If you do go all LSi, yes, I think you need to think about better amplification for all channels. You can do this a number of ways that don't HAVE to cost a fortune.

Welcome to the forum, look forward to having another audio nut hanging around

Thanks for the reply. Your probably right in that mixing them may not be desirable since that are rated at different ohms. Putting 70 watts a channel into 8 ohms would put 35 watts into 4 ohms( if i remember my basic electronics training right of P=I*R). That probably wouldnt produce the best results. Well compared to the LSI's what do you think of the RTI150's?

I'm thinking more along the lines of that they sound completely different, actually.

I think the RTi150 is a SWELL speaker, what do YOU think? That's the real question my friend!

Don't discount the Rti70s as mains, rti38's.. run the 28's on rear duty if you so disire after you get a larger set of mains.. The rti150's are nice looking and sound good also, But if you have a subwoofer the Rti70's would also be a great set of mains and mesh perfectly with the 28's you already have, see my gear setup below.. this system is loud and clear.. I love it.. But like Troy said your the one that has to like it,

Or otherwise demo the Lsi's as well, maybe they are what you like, have fun and let us know what you like

Realizing that I am going to stay with the RTI series I returned my RTI28's to circuit city in exchange for some RTI38's and boy do they rock. Now after spending almost two and half hours in the sound room I am stuck on the floorstanding models. I tested the RTI70, RTI100 and the RTI150. To me the RTI100 sounded the best so far. The RTI150 just seemed to be missing something in the midrange. Im going to go back with some more cd's and put the frequencies to the test.

    Here we go........
