ID3 tag recommendations?

I have decided to go through all of the digital music that I have and correct all of the ID3 tags. Some of these are from the napster days and the tags are all messed up. I am looking for an application that will allow me to do this as easily as possible. I have 1000's of songs that need to be corrected so it is a large project. Any recommendations would be welcome. It would be a huge plus if the application worked in Linux as well, that is a long shot but thought i would through it out there.

Any other tips on correcting all of the tags and removing duplicates would be greatly appreciated. I am currently playing the digital files from itunes on an old apple powerbook connected to my AVR.

I'm a big fan of MediaMonkey. Not only does it allow you to edit tags en masse, it also has some powerful scripts that can tell you when you have duplicate tags, or tags with empty fields.

Thanks, Mediamonkey sure does look to be a full featured app. This is what I am looking for. Hopefully this will not be an extremely large project. I am hoping if a do a few at a time it will only take a week or so. Here's to hoping.

Glad you posted this OP, I've been wanting to clean up my library since getting the Sqeezebox Touch setup in my home. I got the Gold version pretty easy, shoot me PM if you need it.

In Media Monkey make sure you send tags to sync with WMP (Windows Media Player) for it to update. Here ya go, also PM sent OP.

tools-> advanced tag management-> synchronize tags
